Message to the ACC Family regarding the coronavirus

Dear ACC Family,

Over the few days, the concern over the coronavirus (COVID-19) has dramatically increased. Like you, we are taking this very seriously, and want to assure you that our #1 priority is the health, safety, and well-being of everyone who comes to our Church. We are paying close attention to recommendations from the CDC, as well as local and state officials here in Oklahoma.

We are aware that there are varied opinions on how to address this issue. Some feel it is being blown out of proportion, others feel that it is being minimized. That however is not our concern. Our primary concern is that all who choose to, may worship the Lord in an environment that they feel is safe and inviting.

As a result, we are taking every possible precaution to make sure that is the case at ACC. In addition to normal practices and procedures already in place to keep our facilities and equipment clean and safe, we are taking extra steps as well.

We understand that there is a lot of uncertainty at this time, but one thing we are certain of is that God is a Sovereign God, and He will never leave us or forsake us. (Joshua 1:9) The Bible reminds us “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

As of now, all Sunday Morning services will continue as planned. Here’s what you need to know when you come:

  • All the toys in our Nursery and Children’s area’s will be wiped down and sanitized.
  • All of our restrooms have plenty of soap and water available for you. We should all follow the recommendation of washing our hands regularly and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds which is one of the most effective ways to combat the spread of any virus.
  • We recommend fist bumps, elbow bumps, or just a gracious smile right now.
  • We do not have a meet and greet time in our services, so you can relax about that.
  • Our communion is always served in non-reusable plastic cups, and our serving trays are cleaned before each use. But we are taking it a step further and will be using disposable communion cups with the wafer attached. The communion cups will be placed strategically around the sanctuary so you can collect one when you enter the sanctuary to take during communion time.
  • We will not be passing the offering trays but will instead make them available during communion and offering time. You can also give via text by texting “Give” to 580-324-0003, or online by going to accok.net/giving.
  • All our staff and volunteers will wash their hands frequently while serving. And any staff or volunteers who feel sick will not be allowed to serve in any capacity and will be encouraged to stay home.
  • We will be wiping down all doorknobs, handles and surfaces regularly and often, in addition to the everyday disinfecting we have already been doing.
  • We will be utilizing our website, Church app, email, and texting system to update you on any changes or cancellations.

That’s what we have been doing at ACC. Here are some things you can do:

  • If you or another family member isn’t feeling well, worship services will be live streamed on our Facebook page, and audio and video podcasts will be uploaded to our Church app on Monday.
  • Giving can be completed online @ accok.net/giving, or by Text To Give
  • If one of your children are not feeling well, please keep them home until they are illness and fever free for at least 24 hours.
  • Continue to wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face.
  • Pray that the efforts taken here, and around our nation will stem the spread of the virus.
  • Deal with others in an attitude of grace, compassion and love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

If you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact the Church office.

See you here!
